Hello, Welcome to my blog.
I am 1 in 3 women who have been abused by their intimate partner. Maybe you are too, or maybe you are not. Either way, this is a good place to learn more about Domestic Violence, and I am glad you are here.
I am just going to give you a rundown about what this page is all about. As most of you know, since you are here… I am an advocate for Victims of Domestic Violence. I spend my time empowering Men and Women who have been abused by their intimate partner, or family members. I also spend my time spreading awareness about domestic violence. I have created awareness photo’s of Domestic Violence, my first set reached over 8 million people. My new shoot is coming up, and I am hoping it reaches just as many! The more we speak about domestic violence, the more aware the rest of the world is. I hope to eventually do a tshirt campaign that will raise awareness, all over the world.
I was a victim of Domestic Violence, and now consider myself a survivor. Not because I am “better now”, but because I am safe from my abuser, and have spent the last 6 years healing from abuse. I still struggle with anxiety, nightmares, trouble sleeping and more.. but I am not going to stop trying to better myself. Which is why I am here. Blogging and getting information out there helps me heal. I know lots of other victims and survivors who feel the same. I will feature others stories, and writings on the blog, so others have their chance to speak out as well. If you want to be featured- please send me an email with your blog post at email@example.com with “survivor story” in the subject line. If you have a suggestion on a topic you’d like me to talk about, please also send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org If you have any questions about the content I am posting-please feel free to use the comments section to ask your questions.
Please feel free to subscribe to my blog so you will get notified when I make a new post.
I have an upcoming photoshoot for October’s Domestic Violence Awareness month. It will be posted here rather than in an album on Facebook. ( I will share the link on Facebook, though.)
This blog will be raw, and not censored. It is hard to censor Domestic Violence, about as hard as it is to understand it. The title of my first blog post explains me to a T. I am 1 in 3. 1 out of 3 women are abused by their significant other, but it didn’t stop me. He didn’t ruin me, like he was trying… he knocked me down and I come back stronger.
Now that you know what this page is all about, feel free to browse around. I will be posting my story next, and dive right into the roller coaster of topics about Domestic Violence. Please share with your friends, Victims or Survivors of Domestic Violence or not… the more who read the stories, the more awareness we are spreading.
